Another household name could be preparing to emerge in the emerging world of Web3. According to trademark attorney Mike Kondoudis, The Home Depot has filed for 24 Web3 trademarks covering its name, logo, and brands. On November 17, 2022, the trademarks were filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

Trademarks covering NFTs, virtual goods, and online retail stores were reportedly filed for 17 brands, including Hampton Bay, Husky, and Lifeproof. This suggests that home improvement services in virtual or augmented reality environments may be on the horizon.

Mattel owns the intellectual property rights to brands such as Barbie, Hot Wheels, Matchbox, UNO, Fisher-Price, and others. NFT collections have been released for the Barbie and Hot Wheels franchises.

The flow blockchain is used to power the marketplace. Mattel intends to integrate a “peer-to-peer trading platform” by 2023, allowing users to easily trade with other users.

Apecoin DAO, a community-driven organisation of Apecoin owners, has launched its own Marketplace. It was built by Snag Solutions, an NFT infrastructure company that won the community vote (88%) over giants like Magic Eden and rarible.

The marketplace includes NFTs from Yuga labs’ NFT collections such as BAYC, MAYC, Bored Ape Kennel Club (BAKC), and Otherdeed for Otherside. The ApeCoin platform charges a 0.25% platform fee on APE transactions and a 0.5% fee on ETH transactions. In both cases, 0.25% of the transaction fee is returned to the Apecoin DAO treasury.
